Top ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke & The Bookish that’s always been one of my favorites! I am an obsessive lover of all things in list form! This week is a freebie, pick what you want week, and I’m going with my top ten most anticipated books of 2015. I recently got new bookcases and still can’t fit all of my books, so I am preemptively trying not to buy too many books this year (and already failing! Damn you, bookoutlet.ca) but these are the new releases I won’t be able to resist buying in 2015!
1. Dead of Winter by Kresley Cole
This one goes to the top of the list beccauuussee I already bought it. Woops! I haven’t even read book two in The Arcana Chronicles yet, but I knew there was no way I wasn’t going to be reading this book. I’ve actually just started rereading book one so I can marathon all three together!
2. The Heir by Keira Cass
The WordNerds recently read The Selection trilogy for our December Book Club and I flew through all three books because Kiera Cass has a writing style like no other. I will absolutely be reading the next book in this series as soon as I can get my hands on it!
Bonus Book: The Selection Stories – The Queen & The Favorite
3. Throne of Glass #4 by Sarah J. Maas
I don’t know anything about this book yet, but I know it’s going to be awesome!!! I recently finished reading Heir of Fire, and I can’t wait to see what comes next. Part of me is a little nervous this book won’t actually come out this year, but I’m not giving up yet.
4. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
This is going to be a big year for one of my favorite authors!!! I have no doubt that this new series from the author of the Throne of Glass series is going to be equally amazing, and I can’t wait to read it.
5. Polaris by Mindee Arnett
I’ve already read this in ARC form, but I love this series so much that I will absolutely be buying myself a copy so it can sit on the shelf beside Avalon! I need more YA sci-fi in my life.
6. Winter by Marissa Meyer
I don’t want this series to end! Ever!!!! But I am beyond excited about meeting Winter, and seeing how Cinder’s story comes to a close.
Bonus Book: Fairest by Marissa Meyer
7. The Mime Order by Samantha Shannon
This one I’ll be getting in audiobook format because that’s how I experienced book one, and really having someone with an Irish accent narrate a story to me… yes please! The Bone Season was a really cool debut, and I can’t wait to see where the story goes. This is a little more adult than what I usually read, but I love the world building so much. If it weren’t for how long audiobooks take, I’d probably relisten to the first one before going into the second because I don’t want to forget a single thing.
8. Magonia by M.D. Headly
This is one I have in ARC form (digitally), haven’t read yet, and yet am still pretty sure I will be purchasing this year. This is one of the most beeautiful covers of 2015 (that has been announced so far) and I need to have it on my shelf. Thankfully, the story also sounds like it will make for an interesting read.
9. Lion’s Share by Rachel Vincent
This is the first book in a NA spinoff series (spinning off from Shifters which is one of my favorite Urban Fantasy series) and it’s being self-published! I am so excited!!!! I’m not sure what to expect from the shift from UF to NA, but I am more than willing to wait and see how it goes, and will probably be reading this entire series no matter what.
10. I will leave number ten wide open as these are the only ones I’ll definitely be buying, but there’s no doubt in my mind that I will cave on a monthly basis and buy even more. My main goal this year though is reading more already completed series, and I’m going to tryyyy not to start too many series that I’ll just end up having to reread from book one by the time the last book comes out. That’s the plan anyway. I make no promises about sticking too it!
