Hello! I’m Kellie Sheridan, author, WordNerd, amateur programmer/artist/whatever else strikes my fancy and… well, you get the idea. I’ve been an avid reader for as long as I can remember, and officially jumped into the publishing industry with a job at my local bookstore, stocking shelves at 5am because I just needed to be close to all the pretty, pretty books. From there I went on to work with small presses like Spencer Hill Press and Brain Lag, before realizing just how in love with indie publishing I am.
I published my first novel, Mortality, in early 2013 and soon after founded Patchwork Press in order to involve some of the community of traditional publishing with my own self-publishing journey. And because that still wasn’t enough bookish goodness in my day to day life, I started vlogging with the WordNerds, which has honestly been one of the most incredible experiences. You can catch us live chatting every Sunday on Youtube, talking about writing, publishing, our favorite books, and going off on some extremely random tangents. I also have my own YouTube channel where I talk about writing along with all of my side adventures.
So that’s the business side… and now for the rest! I currently live a little outside of Toronto, Canada, with my husband and our adorable muppet of a dog, Piper. This area has been my home all my life, but I spent a year living and working in Ireland and loved every minute of it. I’ve visited about a dozen countries so far in my life and hope to have the opportunity to see quite a few more, as well as going back to visit some favorites.
When not working, I spend a lot of time reading, which should surprise absolutely no one. My favorite authors include Rainbow Rowell, Rachel Vincent, Stephanie Perkins, Sarah J. Maas, Patricia Briggs, and Marissa Meyer. I also adore video games, but never seem to get enough time to play them. My current obsession is Overwatch (Moira, Mercy & Junkrat). I also try to find small corners of my day to add television into the mix as TV has got to be my second favorite way to experience a story.
Annnnd of course, like everyone else, I spend way too much time on social media. You can find links to all of my profiles at the very top of this page.
